I'm searching for a new optic to put on my TB Clone. Right now it has https://www.hkparts.net/shop/pc/HK-SL8-G36-Sight-Rail-Aluminum-Flip-Up-Sights-180p17718.htm on it and i'm not a fan.

I'm debating if I should put the Hensoldt 3.5x Dual optic, Standard G36c, or a Hensoldt with a different RDS mounted on top if possible.

I see a ton of airsoft knock offs out there with the rail on top of the optic, but can seem to find if they ever did a real one or not or if once could be added to the top. Thanks!!

Yes, HK does produce a single optic with rail on top. This site has them in stock:

I have bought uncommon G36 mags there, nice business to deal with.

interesting thanks! I wish the rail sat lower, i have hard time with Cheek weld as is.

Annnnd I will have to come along to put a word in for the Spuhr rail. It is pricey but you can't beat it. Drop a Hensoldt 4x30i on it and an RSA-S to complete the IDZ optics package. Gangster, straight gangster.

FWIW - I have the single optic carry handle with the rail, but preferred the 4x30i setup when I still had that optic.

I too like the Carry handle look. It is classic. What I did was buy a cheap Airsoft version of the carry handle that comes with a lower profile rail. Disassembled it and harvested the rail. Took apart my dual optic. Removed the Hensoldt red dot. One hole matches up perfectly. I had to redrill the other. Used some lock tight and affixed the rail to the factory carry handle. Re packed everything and it works great. You could also use a 45 degree offset mount to eliminate the high rise on the Red dot.
I used a smaller RMR for my preferred red dot.
