It took me almost a year to get all the parts for this build. Until recently, K sized cocking tubes were hens teeth. But it was well worth the wait. The gun is a mutt: SW receiver, HK F stock, cohaire lower, and RCM barrel/bolt group. I sent a box of parts to Jeff Walters and got this in return.
The gun is exactly what you would expect from Jeff. It is rock solid. The welds are very clean. The finish is even and unblemished. The magwell locks up very tight with HK and ATI mags. There is very little front to back mag play and zero side to side. The stock is on tight, but not too tight. I practically gave myself a hernia trying to get the endcap off one of my non Ghillie clones. Not a problem with this gun. Jeff tweaks the receiver to get the perfect fit.
I fired 125 rounds on the first range trip. 25 rounds of 115 gr. WWB and 100 rounds of American Eagle 124 gr. 9mm. I had two early ejection failures with the WWB 115 gr. No other issures. The gun loosened up as the range session went on. Here is a pic of one of my groups. 10 rounds at ten yards without a rest. The 2 inch group is a credit to the gun, not me
I'm going to put a suppressor on it later this year. And a sear pack when I hit the lottery. Many thanks to Jeff for a great build.
