I would call HK much easier that way, never had a sk so don't know about the backstrap, Congrat's on the HK sound's like your a happy guy!!
Got a P2ksk...one issue.
I got a P2ksk BB date code 9mm V2 on Tuesday and took it to the range yesterday. It shot like a gem! I only fired 150 rounds yesterday. 50 124gr Speer Lawman and 100 147gr Fed Hydra-shock with 0 issues. The LEM trigger really smoothed out even just after 150 rounds.
Only issue... It was NIB(ordered in for me) and when I got home with it I checked inside the box and there wasn't a spare backstrap. I'm assuming it is supposed to come with a second backstrap... Correct me if I'm wrong. If so, should I call HK or is it something my ffl should reconcile?

I really like it... I just dremeled the pinky extension and now I LOVE it!! It is so much better without having to squeeze my fingers to grip it.
One of my HK45c's didn't come with an extra backstrap. Call Link at HKI and he'll hook you up!! Your FFL's responsiblity ceases pretty much after the 4473 is called in. JMHO.
hmmm i got a p2000sk .40 LEM about a month ago, with test fire date of 11/2011 i believe, new in box. no backstraps either.

At first I tried the flat base plat on the mag and didn't like my pinky in limbo, so I followed the advice here on HK PRO and dremeled down the pinky extention and now, I can get a full grip.
My opinion, the two best mods for HK P2000sk: HK45c mag release extention & Dremeled pinky extention (if needed)
I'm jealous, this will be my next handgun.
I just used the sandpaper wheel. Took about 3 mins. I haven't hit it with fine sandpaper by hand yet to smooth it out a bit more. I'll get a couple pics up.That's a great idea! What attachment did you use? Pics?

Mine came with 2 backstraps as well, but I was a little surprised when I realized it only came with white dot sites and not even the glow-in-the-darks that my P30 came with...
Yeah... That kinda bothers me too... But it is what it is. I really like the luminova sights on my P30! I plan on giving the flat base plates a try too but I'm really liking how I have a full grip now with the dremel mod. It gives my pinky a place to sit just perfectly!Flat base plates work much better. Either way you'll have to tuck your pinky!

You're kidding, right? The Trijis and Mepros aren't fantastic either, but the stock sights, eeesh... I wonder how much hatred has been expressed in their direction...Yeah...
