Hello and MP5 info sought

1347 Views 16 Replies 8 Participants Last post by  TacticalMedic
Hello, first I own no HK weapons, and am seeking data on an MP5 (registered FA). Any help/info would be much appreciated. I will have detail photos sometime over the coming weekend, will use a Nikon D7100 and 105mm Micro lens. LOL and I don't know if this is the correct forum to pose questions

Anyway, the back story on the gun follows:

The owner has had it for several years, he bought it from a large brick and mortar in OKC. At that time the brick and mortar told him the gun is a Pre Ban Factory FA which had been in a group of 5 purchased by a General Officer in the US Army pre ban for personal use. Other than having seen the weapon and his paper work I'm like Sgt Schultz, "I know nothing".

He has taken his family to Florida over Thanksgiving thus the wait for detailed photos. Photos of which pieces would be helpful in identifying this as good as can be with photos and typed descriptions?

Any and all advice appreciated

Welcome to the site--- pics of the weapon's markings and paperwork details could determine the model of firearm converted, and whether it is a registered sear, registered trigger pack, or registered receiver!!!

See if he can post pics of the weapon and paperwork (names/addresses redacted)--- either the sear, trigger pack, or receiver had to be registered before 05-19-86!!!

will do. i think he mentioned the owner is out of town for the holiday but bear with him. i can honestly say he is not one of those guys that say look at me, look what i say i have.

from what little i know its an early 80's model MP5 but he is trying to find out and i will be the first to tell you i don't know. thats why i sent him here. the gun does have paperwork but we all know all a form 1 or 4 really has is a model # and serial #.
Sometimes, the "manufacturer" of the firearm and caliber(s) registered can indicate whether it is a sear gun, registered trigger pack, or registered receiver!!!
