taking my 91 out this weekend to try to harvest a deer. Woot!

HOLY CRAP!!! Fired a couple of groups yesterday before my hunt today to make sure all was in working order with the 91. I was astonished at the accuracy I got with Winchester power max bonded 150 gr. I shot a 5 round group (2nd group of the day) with open sights at 85 yards and the group measured 1.23". That is great shooting for me. I shot while kneeling not even from a bench. I've only shot my 91 once before but I must say I am impressed. Didn't see any deer today but had I they would have not survived.

A friend of mine and forum member here has shot at least one whitetail with his 91. I've never shot one with a 91 but have taken 3 between my SL7 and my model 770.

The more I own them I say why not, a bolt gun is nice but the faster follow up shot with a semi is better.

Last weekend got a 83 lb. button buck with my 91. 125 yd shot. Meant to post to this thread earlier. The older I get the heavier that 91 gets,but I still love carrying it. Rock out with your KOCH out. Merry Christmas and a Happy New Year to all.

I have used mine way back as it was all I had for hogs, 125yds easy running away from me. more or less no real sport and it is one heavy rifle to hump and very accurate, I find the diopter sights awesome for moving targets and the pigs don't stand a chance.
