Hello guys,

today I ran across this magazine HK "Gen2 PM" that is of the AR15 type, 30 round black magazine. I have never seen a similar product and it seems to be rather new, with a BF datecode.

Does anyone know the actual story behind this mag type?

Thanks!

So $50 for a $14 PMag due to the HK name?

My comment wasn't that it was an exact copy of a PMag. Just that it is simply another poly AR mag that brings nothing to the table that the PMag (or the other clones of it already on the market) doesn't already provide other then the HK name on it. A name that guarantees it will sell at an inflated price compared to what is already on the market. Further proof that HK's idea of "innovation" lately is to simply copy things that are already established on the market....AR clones and now PMags.

I presume that few people actually know where these mags are from and why and how they are constructed the way they are. I presume they were built for a specific contract and are not the mainline HK mag, this is the translucent poly or metal mag.

Apart from the restraints of the AR Magwell as common item, there is zero indication that this mag is a copy of any other poly mag, and I have all three PMAG gens here and various other mags.

Same with the AR15, the AR is not a clone, its a very different beast in many regards in the AR form factor. Thinking along the bolt and bcg design incl firing pin safety, enhanced ambi features, operating system.
