Is there a place that will repair these tac lights? Mine is an older model from 2004 and has seen little action mounted to the rail. The light failed and I thought it was the batteries or the bulb, but it ended up being neither. When I took the bulb out to inspect it, I noticed that one of the terminals inside the housing had snapped off. The bulb contact was touching nothing but plastic on one terminal. As a quick fix, I used a small knife to whittle away a bit of plastic to get more of the terminal to show. I dropped some solder on it to build it up and it now works. I don't trust it, but I also don't want to buy a high dollar replacement. Just curious if these can even BE repaired. This is my home defense weapon (USP .45) so I want some peace of mind on the repair.

I have seen some nonworking UTL housings for sale before that you might be able to cannibalize for parts that are generally much cheaper than a new one. I haven't seen/looked for any in a while though.

Well crap. I'm in the same boat as the OP. I replaced the batteries and bulb to no avail. Guess i'll be contacting Insight...

Wow! Mine did the exact same thing. And I've used it less than 10 total hours!
Did you ever contact Insight? Or anyone else?
And/Or how did your solder repair hold up?
