"MIL-5" is the code (not sure if you need the hyphen or not) you need to insert to get the military discount. Cheers...!!
Ok, but remember a couple things: First, the HK Parts Co. comp is made from aluminum, and won't last years of pounding. Aluminum scratches, galls, & suffers from any dings you might put on it. The MatchWeight unit is steel, which, at 12 oz (3/4 of a pound), might be too heavy for some people to hang on the front of their Mk 23. However, I love mine. I can rapid-fire any "+P" or "+P+" ammo out there with that comp on. Easy to take off and put on. HK Parts isn't making their's right now. What happened was, the HK Parts comp screws into the female threaded hole on the front of the trigger guard and puts pressure on the muzzle. If you look at the muzzle of the gun, you'll notice that when the gun's slide cycles, the muzzle tips "up" in the process, which was allowing the bullet to strike the underside of the inside top area of the comp, resulting in accuracy errors. That's why they took it off the market. The MatchWeight unit also is shaped to vent gasses upward (the "slots" on the bottom of the comp allow the "heat-sink" portion to do its job). Send me your email & I'll send you some photos. I have two Mk 23's - one with the comp installed & one without and the thread protector cap screwed on. Both are extremely accurate guns. But the comp'd gun allows hot loads to shoot very fast..! I love it..!! And as far as the weight goes, yeah, you're talking a total all-up weight of just over 60oz, loaded, but after you've shot it a relatively short while, it seems natural in the hand - you get used to it. I'm also shooting with HK Parts' 17-round extended magazines (with red-anodized bottoms - aluminum, and you have your choice of red, blue, or black colored bottoms. Each mag comes with its own Allen wrench to remove the bottom for cleaning.), and they work extremely well, too..!!
Now they're telling me that the "gen 2" Mk 23 comp is just 4-6 weeks away...! No price yet.
I really couldn't tell any difference in side by side MK 23s, one with and one without shooting same ammo.
