Should I be using HV .22 or is regular .22 ok for these weapons? I've shot about four thousand rounds of Winchester M22 and was wondering if I'm using the wrong ammo. What are the pros and cons of HV? Thanks
If the gun cycles without jamming, then you are using the correct ammo. HV is just that...higher velocity than "standard velocity". Personally, I don't see any real difference between the two, as long as the gun works with either.
If you're using HV ammo, make sure you adjust the screw in the receiver by turning it clockwise. It is documented in the user's manual (I forgot what page).
First, turn the screw counterclockwise to make sure it sits flush with the receiver, then turn it clockwise 9 times, but no more than 9. If you're using standard velocity ammo, let it out a few turns.
