Hi guys…
the hk 416 a8 has win the bundeswehr contract for replace the g36 (after the issue with Heanel).
the 416 a8 is the last version, different safety lever angle, different front rail and different grip…
the civil version is already registered in the BKA database from may of 2021,
like previous hk civil model, is like government procedure for introduce a rifle into the civil market in Germany.
previously happen for example with the civil version of hk g36, the hk mr243, approved in December of 2013, and release on the eu market in November of 2014, so more or less after a year.
the mr223a3 was release in 2016 after 5 to 6 months after the release of the military counterpart 416a5.
so…somebody knows something about the release on EU market?
if hk maintain the same schedule from the last years, I think the release can be from this winter to max next year… I hope soon as possible!

Since the civilian mr223 and 308 use the same production line as the 416/417 there will be no or very few civilian weapons produced until the major military contracts are filled. The inital batches to france needs to be filled and if the bundeswehr contract defaults to HK I think it will be quite a while before any large scale production runs of the civilian models. Its not that HK doesn't want to sell the civilian ones, they are restricted by the contractual obligations.

Considering that they're not out yet and probably won't be sold in America anytime very soon (and explained by HKPro that Shot Show still largely caters to the fudds), it wasn't surprising.

Considering that they'll come out in Europe first, the latest stuff could be announced at IWA, which is basically Germany's/Europe's equivalant of Shot Show, though a large part of me would rather see what HK has ready at the related Enforce Tac show.

And having the adjustable gas regulator not only makes them closer to the armed forces spec weapons, but suppressors are sold in quite a few European countries as over the counter firearms accessories. I also believe that some European countries endorse/encourage their use for hunting and sport shooting, especially indoor ranges.

news?! is nearly 1 years from the "bka approval" for the mr95 and the a4,5 and 6 mr223...

sadly, at iwa hk didn't show the newer mr223, only the military version...

i know the A3 is fantastic, and with the slim barrel and without the stupid thick and useless profile is more appealing, but i don't' wont buy now the "older" version!

There's currently a war going on and Germany's decision to beef up their military is going to undoubtedly involve HK. Thus, HK GmbH is going to be focused on that for a bit when its favorite market (military) is in urgent need and they can shift away from their least-favorite (civilian/commercial).

Problem is that HK can boost output by licensing production (like they did with the G3/HK91), but the German "weapons of war" laws and US laws with the NFA put a big kink in that. The "weapons of war" stuff may change since Merkel is out and the new chancellor sees how bad off the German Armed Forces are compared to most other NATO countries and wants Germany to take more of their defense needs into their own hands.

Less so here in the US, where right now we have a gun owner unfriendly president, a wishy-washy congress, and a supreme court that wants to stay as hands off on the issue as they can. Not to mention that states due to the 9th and 10th Amendments can also go their own way to a large degree with firearms regs.

Until all of this gets settled (which I doubt it will any time soon), HK will have to expand German production, which as mentioned doesn't just happen overnight, and even getting stuff into Columbus doesn't seem as easy as it ought to be even for mil/LE people. HKPro missed out on the 433 demo at the shoot last weekend because someone was ahead of them in line for T&E or demos. If there's difficulties with that, imagine how the civilian end of the scale is doing.

That's not why we didn't get the 433, and thus defeats your inference of evidence as to "the civilian end of the scale."

Actually... HK in the last 2 3 years have showed a good interest for the civilian market...a lot of 9mm pistols and semi mp5.
now the Mr223 a3 is like 7/8 years old since the debut on the Eu civil merket, i know, for us is like normal, you can find it easly in every gun shop at around 2600 to 3200 euro, in US is miracle find it for 8grand.
The A4 and A5 version is not a big update like A1 to A3, but still very interesting...

why is so hard find out if HK will release the A4 5 and 6 version of the MR223 in this year, next or next decade?

If I were you I'd go ahead and buy one now. I haven't been in the HK game for ages but from what I've read it's always a bit of a mystery if and when something will release from the holy halls of Oberndorf. Given the current state of the gun market and Germany being about to replace their main rifle for the army, I can't imagine HK popping out modernized civilian versions of their rifles, especially if the current model is still selling well. Purely my personal opinion o please take it with a grain of salt (or two).

Worst case, if you buy the "old" model, get the new one too:confused2::hide:;)

A big update about the mr223 in the newer version, A4 A5 and A6...

This update come from the official HK germany dealer and distributor, the A4 5 and 6 version will be available in the EU market, no doubt about that, but it will takes at least 1 year from now (so more or less the beginning of 2023, after a official presentation at iwa 2023) but the time for a brand new A3 still long, like 6 to 8 months.

this is the last update, and i think is pretty reliable.
