I have a Sport Group iii with matching serial number 9mm and 7.65 barrels and obviously two slides and magazines in each caliber.
Have never seen another one in last 25 years
Would love to know if anyone has more information or has seen this combination anywhere.

Checkout the World of HK section of this forum. There were about 600 made, so yes...it is rare. The magazines are virtually unobtainable!

Dual caliber sport group sets are known but rare. My understanding is that most of these were cobbled together in the years after production ceased as the factory used its inventory of parts to make special things for special people. I have never heard of a sport group dual caliber set featuring the 7.65 caliber though. I would love to see pictures! If you could be willing to share serial numbers or even just a manufacturing year I would be grateful!

A 7.65 P9S with a serial number beginning with 100? You, my friend, may well own the first production 7.65 P9S! The P9 versions all started with 090, and the 600 made in 1973 were given a new serial range starting with 200. Yours fits neatly between these two known Production runs of 7.65 pistols.

Yours also raises the total of known produced 7.65 P9/P9S pistols to 625. Nice!
