Hi All,

I'm wondering if someone can point me in the right direction for someone that can modify HK-SP5K pistol into a carbine with California Bullet button to shipment to California FFL as well as help pin the magazines to 10 round mags.

I have found an FFL that is highly competent and able to do the work, but I am worried they have too much work (due to California ban deadline) and I"m looking for a backup FFL.

The FFL would need to be reputable, able to accept NIB HK SP5K and to do the Cali modification.

Any advice and direction would be appreciated!

FYI the Prince BB is a lot cleaner when installed that the Radlock. Clock is ticking, Dec.21 for most FFL's some might let you DROS Dec. 31 but I would not chance it.

That is a really long barrel extension.
I considered HK34'ing one with an RCM barrel, but the cocking tube notch location would suck with that long of a tube.
Try Michael's Machines or IGF.
I was thinking about doing the same with a B&T APC9, but I can't bring myself to pin that long of an extension on it.
Most of the good smith's I've talked to recently on doing bits for CA before the of the year are really backed up.

Thanks guys! I will e-mail Michael's machines. I'll look at the Prince BB too! I'm looking forward to AW registration however and going detachable mag though if the DOJ determines that is permissible

It would look similar to the top gun. With a different stock, or this stock pinned. I sold this one.

On neutering the SMG's / pistols for our glorious state most of the ones I've purchased (HK USC, Kriss Vector, etc.) are using a longer barrel plus fake suppressor to reach the overall length, rather than just purely barrel or barrel + brake.

Unfortunately IMO the fake suppressor can be annoying as a local store which "pinned" the fake suppressor didn't fully secure it onto the barrel and I ended up putting a .45 ACP round through the top of the suppressor - luckily no injuries or damage but lesson learned haha.

The APC9 looks very attractive also - I've been looking at that too - how is the availability of the APC9?

chuckster, the sp5k at the top of your pic, please school me on the mods . is this weapon considered sbr, carbine, canned, etc.. i've got the H&K sp5k on layaway, i've been gathering info from past threads and the net . i'm new to this platform so any help would be appreciated . not sure which platform to go with yet, just doing my homework .

Question for the HK locking piece tech guys: If one were to put a full 16" rifled barrel, like an HK94 barrel (as opposed to just a fake can barrel extension) on SP5K, what locking piece would you use and how well will the shortened action of the SP5K handle it?
I'd assume it would just be a 100 degree MP5/HK94, but the action is shorter and the carrier is lighter.
