Well, that certainly seems like some good news this morning. Here's to increased stateside manufacturing!
Here's to barrel replacement options for the 416/MR line! and less likely, domestically manufactured MP5's? I really doubt that second one will happen, but what can I saw, hope springs eternal?
Now we get to hear about the imaginary differences between more German manufactured and US manufactured HK arms!
Better late than never.....

Hahaha!! So true.
This is great news...and more job creation as a kicker!

“HK’s new U.S. factory will make use of advanced manufacturing technologies and will be staffed by German and American engineers and technicians,” said Francisco Hidalgo, CEO of HKUSA. The HK products will maintain the same level of quality and reliability that the consumer has grown to expect from HK.”

Very good.

Looking forward to browsing the gift shop after my factory tour while the technicians overhaul my HK firearms. :)

You know….. I was just doing some research on HK’s manufacturing numbers yesterday:

Total Pistol and Rifles Manufactured by HK annually since 2008.

2014 – 10,583
2013 – 22,683
2012 – 5,711
2011 – 6,926
2010 – 724
2009 – 5,846
2008 – 1,100

2014 FN America 54,083
2014 Glock Inc 232,335
2014 Sig Sauer 477,057

Tony, I say 2018 will prove to be a better year for HK.

HK just Tweeted: "An HK factory in the USA staffed by German and American engineers, that everyone has been clamoring for, is coming!" With a link to the article SG posted in #1
Who needs Viagra with news like this............
Quote of the day:)
MP7 semi, MP7 semi, MP7 semi...
Can I get a hell yeah?
Francisco Hidalgo, CEO of HKUSA... so I guess it's true, Wayne Webber was made a VP at some point (confirmed on his LinkedIn profile) where previously he was president. Glad he's still part of the HK team.

LOL!

How does the 50,000 sq/ft rate in terms of production capacity? Can a facility this size produce multiple models (e.g. P30, USP, P2000), multiple lines (e.g. pistol and SMG and rifle) or less? I know it would be speculation, but I have no knowledge of manufacturing to benchmark how "big" such a facility is considered.

If it's all or mostly production areas, that's huge for items as small as firearms. A football field without the end zones is 48,000 square feet. Easily enough to hold lots of cnc machining centers, injection molding equipment, assembly, and inventory areas.

In all likelihood, it includes a number of offices, perhaps a small conference room, and material storage, just to name a few things.

...work out facilities, billiards table, cafe, perhaps a small sauna...
