Hi All. Im new to this forum and also a fairly new HK owner. I bought my Hk usp 40 new about three months and up untill about a month ago it has run flawlessly untill one day after a long day of shooting the gun ejected a live round out with a spent case. I thought it was a strange fluke at first but then it did it again and again. its always the last two rounds of magazine. Also last time out it started splitting cases. It split two cases out of two hundred both times caused a failure to eject. Could be bad brass. I was using winchester white box.My friend was using the same stuff and had no issues though. Please let me know what you guys think.

No im pretty sure i am not overloading the mags. Thats good thinking though. I agree it does seem to be a mag issue. I have marked the mags that i have had a problem with and im looking at picking up some new ones. IS there a place online to buy used mags?

They all measure about 0.364 in. at the narrowest point on the feed lips. They have not been dropped and they are not very worn. i've only had this gun for about three months and i have about 1500 rounds through it using these three mags.

Hi all. I called hk costomer service and as i expected they had never heard of this. They said it could possibly be worn feedlips on the magazines but the only thing they could do is have me send the gun in to have them take a look at it. At this point i dont want to do that. I will explore this problem more on my own and if i cant pin it down then i will send it in. I have feeling its the magazines though. Thanks for all of your suggestions

Well i bought the gun new but i do plan on buying some new mags. After all These are polymer mags and the feed lips do look a little gummed up. I would like to buy some of the steel magazines. I think the gun is fine too becuase i had it for a little over two months and put about 1000 rounds through it without any problems.

. . . you have no round in the chamber when this happens? and you have to rack the slide to fire again?

Is this correct?
It happens with the last two rounds of the magazine. I fire the one that is in the chamber and it ejects the spent case as well as the last round in the magazine and the slide does not lock to the rear.

Hi guys i found the source of the problem. Its hard to explain but what was happening was the rounds were stacking in the magazine wrong. In other words when looking at the back of the magazine (the holes that show the round count) i can see the number 8 round is missing. I can see two stacked in the number 9 slot and one in the 10 spot. I took a picture but it turns out i cant post it. I hope you guys can picture what i am trying to explain. Anyways thanks for all of your help.
