I own a few P9S's as well as an Elite 45 and other HK's, but never had this happen.

I called HK and sent pics and they said it would be Tuesday before they could tell me something.

In the mean time has anyone had this happen and how did HK handle it?

Thanks

Thanks for the replies, actually no back story I know of. I bought it used but as you can see it's very clean. I didn't notice it until I went to clean the gun. As you can see when it's pushed down flat you hardly notice it.

I contacted HK and sent pictures. I can't imagine they would just blow me off but if they do are their replacement frames available?

Thanks for the update. As stated already- where did you buy it? If it was from a LGS I'd be taking that back ASAP. Will be interesting to see what HKCS does. I'd think they would like more info as well, but it doesn't sound like you have any additional info- unless you know the person you got it from to fill in the blanks. Keep us posted.

I bought it from an online store. I have been in contact with them and waiting to hear back.

I understand the desire for the back story, but I don't have one other then what I've stated, sorry.

Fact is, no mater the backstory it bothers me and I would think anyone why this would happen period.
I'm not worried about blaming someone or what they did, I'm more concerned about why any hk would do this!
The gun obviously hasn't been abused. I would hope it would take a beating before something like this wouldn't happen.

I'm hoping this is a fluke and that's why I wanted to check and see if anyone had seen this happen.

Thanks for everyone's feedback.

At the end of the day, the frame is polymer (plastic). Whether it's HK, Gl*ck, S*g, etc- the plastic can only withstand so much abuse. HKs are awesome but if someone drives over it, shoots a crazy reload, or hammers nails with it- the frame will be the first to give way. I'd be all over that online seller to get answers. Just another reminder for everyone to check & double check anything you buy. I just bought new HK online and I must have checked that thing out for 20 minutes before I completed the transfer papaerwork. I have no idea how HK handles serialized frame damage.

google seach "gun kaboom pictures" . $hit happens, yes even to glocks and AK's . you need to start with the seller, before you took possession of the weapon did you do a take down inspection at your FFL/LGS ? was it sold "as is" ,leo trade in, did you shoot $hit ammo/reloads through the weapon, etc... ? the USP is leo and military proven, it is one of the best sidearms ever made, as long as you follow H&K's manual, you will find this is a rare occasion for the USP .

i'm not accusing you of wrongdoing and hope you come out on top .

good luck

According to some other forums I've read in a google search and issues with the frame have happen it seems HK will sell a new frame for $125..... anyone vouch for that being true on here?
If you send in your gun for evaluation and HK USA deems the repair to be outside the scope of warranty, a charge such as you have described may be an option. HK will not sell a frame outside of this scenario.
