Hey guys I just installed the LEM kit into my fullsize HK USP .40 S&W and it now the hammer hits the plastic frame towards the end of the trigger pull, right before the trigger breaks. The hammer comes back and just barely hits the frame right at the end of the trigger pull. Any ideas on what could be causing this and if so what steps I can do to correct this issue?
Thanks!

I'm unable to manually force the hammer back that far on any of my three LEM pistols. None is a USP but the USP9C was among those I just checked. A minimum of 1/16" clearance on all three.

All of my LEM pistols are the same as Chuck's. There is a clearance on all of them. Ensure you have the Hammer Strut in correctly and the LEM hammer is installed correctly. It's quite easy to install the LEM hammer insert backwards.

i have a p2000sk lem which works perfectly. My USPt 40, i once converted to LEM-match. the hammer makes a strange figure 8 during its cycle. the mark on it from the firing pin is off center. i converted back to the match trig and made it a V9.

Initially I would advise that you tear it down and reinstall from scratch. Sometimes something gets install incorrectly and goes unnoticed until function check. Most of the times when this happens it takes less time to start over than it does to problem solve it. The second time will go much faster than the first.

+1 here. i did that until i could do it with my eyes closed. I was scared of the metal parts sitting side by side at first, but you get to know your HK more intimately this way. sometimes you manage to put it back in a manner where the gun doesn't seem to work properly, and you have to do it again. this never did solve my LEM prob with the USP though - i mean it always worked, the fit just wasn't perfect.
