Give them a call tomorrow and they'll make it right
Definitely check them out. I'd be curious as to the condition yours are in. Mine was not in an "official" HK sealed bag- just a ziplock style bag. I wouldn't normally care about a mag with a few scratches, but for the steel to have that kind of gouge/bend?just got two from them today, I did not even open the bag. Will check when I get home.

Ha ha. I thought buying directly from HK was safe?! Didn't realize I was going to get a mag from the used & abused bin. I'm sure it'll be taken care of.Don't buy used magazines!!!![]()

Well that's interesting. I only have this one so I can't compare. That certainly is something that looks awfully odd to be on purpose? If I call & they say it's meant to be there then I'm cool. I can live with a chewed up follower, some gouges in the polymer body, and wear marks. After all- it is a mag that will be roughed up by Saturday afternoon! Just weird that I would get something that was so obviously used?I bought some...I won't say exactly how many...we'll leave it at >10.
All of mine have this:

It's either supposed to be there, or it's a defect in the stamping machine and they ALL are defunct. Since there are no other metal, full-size 9mm usp mags to compare it to, it's hard to say.
All of mine have that, too, and I didn't buy them from the webshop.I bought some...I won't say exactly how many...we'll leave it at >10.

Well it would seem that the one thing I was most puzzled about is supposed to be that way. Must be that way for a reason. I'm in no position to question HK! All the other stuff is just cosmetic so I'm good. Maybe I just got the one they torture tested. Thanks for all the posts guys. All of mine have that, too, and I didn't buy them from the webshop.I bought some...I won't say exactly how many...we'll leave it at >10.

They will!!! :biggrin:Ha ha. I thought buying directly from HK was safe?! Didn't realize I was going to get a mag from the used & abused bin. I'm sure it'll be taken care of.
No answer on the phone or reply to email/voice message at the Webshop today. I tried several times. I'll try again Monday. Anyone know how many folks they have to answer phones or emails? Maybe it's just one person and they were out enjoying a day off. They will!!!Ha ha. I thought buying directly from HK was safe?! Didn't realize I was going to get a mag from the used & abused bin. WT--- they ought to show a pic of that side of the magazine on their site!!! :biggrin:Below is the answer I received first thing this morning from the Webshop. As I suspected when I received the five I purchased, they appeared to me to simply have been packed up in a bulk container and consequently drawn from a bulk container, thus the evident scuffing, etc. As for the mark on the top side of the magazine...well....here is what HKWebshop said:
The magazines are new from Germany. They do send them over to us in bulk. The "dent" that you see on them is in fact the way that they come. It appears to be part of the mold in Germany.
Just looked at my P30s mag and it does show the "crease". But, the "crease" appears to be well formed and straight (at an angle). I could believe that this was intentional. On the other hand, the original photo of the USP9 Expert mag looks "sloppy" and more unintentional. Just my observation/interpretation of the photos.I got the same answer from the Webshop this morning too. Something interesting I found- take a look at this VP9/P30 mag pic and you see a very similar bend in the metal. Must be intentional by HK and serve some purpose.
I agree with you. The P30 mag crease is well done & looks intentional if you will- the bend in that Expert mag looks as if it was dropped or forced in with a screwdriver along with being scratched. Again- if HK says it's supposed to be there then I will trust them. They have just a BIT more experience than I do at manuafacturing firearms & magazines.
