Is it going to be chambered in a more formidable caliber?
Kinda an XM-8 with more scar/ACR kinda looks instead of fish-like? Just in time to bid to become the new German army weapon unless they go with the Steyr option or get 416.
France might be bummed they are jumping to 416.
I wonder since it is modular if it could also end up in an intermediate 6-6.5 caliber as discussed elsewhere.

The motivation for this weapon is the "Basic Handweapon concept", a new concept of the GAF.
On "Handgun Ability level 4", KSK and KSM (Delta/Seal equivalent) fall under this, .300BLK is required. As some may remember, German Special Forces rifle tender came out recently, hence the HK231 (.300BLK) and HK433 family.

Oh yeah, I kind of dig the look. It's got some SCAResque features, but has a slimmer, more appealing profile like the ACR/Masada had. It might have a chance.
Anyone else think it odd that Bushmaster/Rem happened to come out of the dark with ACR barrels, and SoldierSystems just recently had a sort of Magpul Masada memorial the other day...and then this? It's like someone's trying to get our minds back off the AR stuff and back on this type of gun again [adjusts tinfoil on head].

Don't get me wrong, I don't feel I'm being pessimistic… it would be foolish for me to jump out of my chair in excitement… only because I've learned over the years that by not setting expectations I never get disappointed. There is a small piece of me that feigns on the idea of owning one of these...

I like it other than the forward charging handle. Beretta got their charging handle placement correct with the ARX100. This one looks like it would fight for airspace with accessories and slings. I can't wait to see the guts.
I too am a little disappointed in the charging handle location vs a traditional AR setup. Since this was probably intended for the German military, it makes sense to have the charging handle somewhere similar to the G36 they're already so accustomed to.
