I'm about to do something dumb with this color, but i want to double check on this. the rifle is a bit of a 2-tone as upper has a slightly different gray than the lower. Based on what i can see on the cerakote chart, the Sniper Gray color seems to be used on the upper? The lower seems to be a lighter/brighter gray.Color is Sniper Grey, though I don't know the RAL code for it. Though it is a color that some NATO organizations and LE units have asked for rifles and such to be done in.
Sniper Grey is one of the new color options. You’ll see it available on other weapons as well.In this lighting condition, it is definitely look closer to each other, so that's a great help!
I hope that the "lighter gray" shade is more or less due to the lighting condition/white balance of the picture, rather than how it looks IRL. I dig the darker gray with the slight blue tint on the upper that the original G39 video from TFB TV was able to show than the lighter gray that their G210 video showed.

Although, it never crossed my mind until now but maybe @Teufelshund Tactical can help asking the exact colors are being used on both the uppers and the lowers?
Thanks James, is it cerakoted (H234 - Sniper Gray) or anodized to that color for the upper?Sniper Grey is one of the new color options. You’ll see it available on other weapons as well.
Looks like that rifle just needs a new stock. The first broken. Direct FPV hit near the operator.
A piece of the wall broke off and fell on the rifle. The operator is alive and everything is fine. View attachment 471641
Much appreciated for the real insights! Is there a general preference between the 2 systems?HK416 A8 vs HK433 – Key Differences
🏋 Weight:
🔄 Recoil:
- HK416 A8: Slightly lighter. Barrel configuration is 14.5’.
- HK433: Heavier overall, due to a more modular and robust design focused on durability and adaptability.
Verdict: HK433 tends to be heavier especially in standard infantry setup.
Verdict: HK433 has noticeably higher recoil in comparison to HK416 A8.
- HK416 A8: Uses a short-stroke gas piston system with a well-refined buffer system, leading to low felt recoil.
- HK433: Also uses a gas piston system, but operators report it feels snappier and has more recoil impulse, possibly due to different bolt mass, recoil spring characteristics, or balance.
âš™ Standard Configuration:
- HK416 A8: Typically comes with Aimpoint Patrol and iron sights.
- HK433: Frequently showcased with high-end accessories like:
- Aimpoint Magnifier and Micro T-2, iron sights
- A-TEC suppressor
- Rheinmetall DBAL
- More modular fore-end options and folding stock with adjustable cheek rest.

EDIT: Stay safe fighting the good fight! I'm glad that latest and greatest seems to be making its way to the frontline.
Still, the AR system has its advantages. In general, among our operators there’s a running joke that the HK416 is the pinnacle and crown of AR platform development — with its heavy-profile barrel, proven and well-balanced piston system, high-quality metal and moving parts. On top of that, it offers excellent ergonomics with a combination of M-LOK and Picatinny rails, and supports quick-detach suppressors on a standard flash hider.
Out of all the rifles we’ve had so far (FN SCAR, CZ BREN 2, FN2000, M4A1, M16A2, HK G36K, HK433), the HK416 is truly the best and most reliable.
I'm surprised that as of now that the 433s are issued with more equipment on them than the 416s. Personally, I'd (and I know that you have little if any control over the configuration that they're issued in) go with the 416's three prong flash hider on the 433 (which standard 433s are sold with usually) and a Ase Utra Dual 556 QM2 like what the G36s that've been sent to Ukraine have. But then again, I like NATO 22mm flash hiders (birdcage or three/four prong) and compatible suppressors.HK416 A8 vs HK433 – Key Differences
