I would guess you mean a hogue slip on sleeve for the "extra handle." Try using a gun scrubber cleaner spray, I've found this works well, spray the handle and the inside of the grip then slide it on while still wet. It will dry and evaporate leaving the grip pretty tight. The USP checkering is pretty aggressive, I gave up on installing one onto my 40.
To disassemble, ensure the weapon is empty by removing the magazine and clearing the chamber with a visual and tactile check for any rounds. Retract your slide back until the square notch lines up over the square portion of the slide release lever. Hold the slide in place and press the lever out from right to left toward you. Once removed, pull the slide forward and off the grip frame then remove the guide rod spring assembly and barrel as normal. Reassemble in reverse order, inserting the pin last once the square notches are lined up again.
