HK45 & USP.45 COMPLETE BREAKDOWN

I WANTED TO SEE HOW DIFFERENT THE NEW HK45 WAS (VS) THE USP .45. TO MY SURPRISE "MOST" OF THE INTERNAL PARTS ARE IDENTICAL AND COMPLETELY INTER-CHANGEABLE WITH THE EXCEPTION OF A FEW PARTS. THE PICTURE BELOW SHOWS THE PARTS SIDE BY SIDE WITH THE HK45 PARTS ON TOP AND THE USP .45 ON BOTTOM. I HOPE THIS HELPS WITH SOME QUESTIONS. ...ENJOY, THANKS, BIG_CHRIS_304

Great post, only major difference I see is the recoil spring.
Kick ass post. Can I post that pic in my blog? :79:

And the O-Ring.
Excellent post Chris! Any chance you can post a high-res version of that pic?
Thanks
Exactly what parts would you consider HK45 only? This was a full sized USP45?
Chris, that is awesome! Nice comparison. Thank you for sharing.
This was a full sized USP45?
Hammer and barrel length look like a compact to me.
Good job! Thanks for the insight!
The bits look like fullsize to me, especially that recoil spring assembly.
Compacts have a bobbed hammer; the barrel and recoil springs appear to be a fullsize USP
Great comparison photo Chris - thanks for sharing! Nice knowing the tried and proven USP parts are for the most part still in use inside the HK45 - when its not broke, dont fix it. :D
This is such a great post!!!!!!!!! I'm going to get scolded, I know, but I think it'd be cool if the individual parts could be identified...like all those small ones - to help the mechanically inept like myself understand where they go.
Kick ass post. Can I post that pic in my blog? :79:
GO 4 IT,MR BELL

AND IT IS USP .45 F/S

I WILL DO THE P-30 / USP C NEXT.
It makes sense though, why change all those little parts if they have already worked so well in the past.
Chris, I was looking to install a USP Match trigger kit into my HK45.

The part in which I am most concerned about is the actual trigger, with the over-travel stop.

From your observations, can you tell if the actual trigger from the USP Match trigger kit will fit into the HK45?

Any idea about the other match parts as well?

Thanks for the post, very insightful.

Also, since parts are so similar, I'd assume a USP take-down guide would be 'enough' to take down the HK45?

Thanks,
Scott

Good call, my bad.
Question?

I'm a bit confused, is there an O-ring barrel on the H&K45? In all I have read about it no one has mentioned it. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Thanks-Dave

The USP .45 does not have the O-Ring Barrel. The new HK45, Tactical, Elite, Expert, and Mark23 all come with the O-Ring Barrel.
