I remember that. That was their promo shot used for write-ups and articles that announced the new pistol line up as well as the story behind Vicker's help with development and testing. To be honest, I was hoping that the HK45 grip was going to look like the 45C. After the spidy grips came out, I had no interest until I actually held it in my hands.
I wish they looked like that too. Clean looking. For some reason the "spidey grip" texture doesn't come up enough.. that open space between the top of the texture and the bottom of the slide looks odd to me. The Mark 23 grip texture is my favorite. It rides all the way up.
Those are the prototypes, Larry Vickers released an article, which is posted on here somewhere about how HK changed most of his design features of the HK45 and the HK45c is more of what he designed than the full size. HK does not like to release different color hand guns for some reason, so they hardly do it.
