HI all

I read the instructions and watched the video for lem conversion and can't get around a hang up:

I can't get the trigger bar to "reset" flush against the right part of the gun. It seems like there isn't enough space between the detent bar/sping and the trigger bar as the trigger bar continually wants to move left. In the instruction video it seems all that's needed is a simple push/depress and the trigger bar clicks in. Perhaps Im doing something wrong but it seems that this shouldn't be this difficult. any suggestions?

I'd suggest a re-do. The bottom edge of the trigger bar rides on top of the detent. Once the hammer axle is in place the trigger bar should stay on top of the detent, as the axle pushes down on the tail of the trigger bar. After the rest of the parts (disconnector, control lever, catch, sear) are in place, the trigger bar shouldn't be able to move laterally off the detent. It sounds like your trigger bar was not on top of the detent when the rest of the parts were installed.

actually, i never fully installed any of the lem kit as i didn't want to do a redo. as of now the original parts have been removed but I can't get the trigger bar to stay on top of the detent consistently as it wants to travel left with any minimal movement

If you can't physically hold the trigger bar in place, try putting a piece of dense foam into the space of the frame not requiring room for the hammer. You'll have to trim the foam to fit rather tightly. But it always works for me. Just be sure and watch the trigger bar detent doesn't "fly to the moon"!

Is the stub pin at the trigger end of the trigger bar fully engaged in the hole in the trigger arm?

Any pics you could add would be a huge help.

ETA: Does the trigger bar jump to the left with the hammer axle in place? Is there anything visible on the right side of the frame between the trigger bar tail and the frame wall?

thx for the help, i actually called hk and they said i wasn't putting enough downward pressure on the trigger bar and that it should ride just on top of the detent, seems to work fine and i finally got the LEM kit installed.

Please post pictures. I've done this LEM conversion on HK45c before... I might be able to help, but pix would help me, help you

Lay the frame sideways (on its right side), then after making sure the trigger bar is in its correct position (laying on top of the Trigger Bar Detent), use one of your thumbs to push the trigger bar against the right side of the frame and keep pushing down while inserting the Trigger Axle. It takes a little practice and after a few tries you'll get a hang of it. It is also helpful to tape the Hammer Strut to the frame using a piece of painter's tape so it doesn't move out of place when you're doing this.

The HK45/HK45C is a little more difficult than the USP series when it comes to this part of the conversion process.

I'm having difficulty picturing how the trigger bar detent and spring install into the frame. I'm trying the conversion on a HK45C, and didn't see where that particular critter came from during the disassembly process. I see how the trigger bar and trigger fit together, but where does the detent go? Can't find any pics anywhere - any help would be appreciated

There should be a vertical hole on the bottom of the right side of the rear area -- under the lower rear part of the trigger bar, just to the right of the control lever/catch. The spring drops into the hole with the detent over it, such that the detent us pushed up into the bottom of the trigger bar.

Disregard, I'm a dumbass. Now, if I ever find the diabolic SOB who designed the interface of the cocking spring, sear, and sear spring, I might punch them in the throat. I'll give it another couple of hours of fiddling, then I guess I'll send it back to the mothership and pay for the install (sigh)

Keep trying, i felt the same way with mine and then everything just "clicked" and it went fine, once it's done, definitely worth the effort. Love the LEM now.
