I recently purchased an HK53 SBR built by a reputable HK smith. When I purchased it I was told that the locking piece in it was for the 62 grain bullets (I believe a #3) Seller said that I may have to change to a #15 but it still may function fine with the existing locking piece. I took it out and the gun wont cycle. I was shooting 55 grain WWB. Wont even eject the spent casings. Any thoughts?

I too recently purchased a Vector 53K and it sounds like you are having the same problems I did. I too suffered FTE each and every time. I have been told that this configuration can be very finnicky and my gun, since it was brand new, is now back at Vector for them to figure out what is wrong. Not sure if this is much help to you, just thought I would share. Were you told by your builder at all about how to break it in or what type of ammo to use? It may be a simple issue like that but I can say that mine was made with the #15 locking piece.

1: If won't eject the spent casing sounds like need to check the extractor spring and see if any movement by finger pressure ... then replace the extractor spring.

2: Which ejector is in the trigger pack?

Ok, just because I feel really generous tonight... and bored, I will submit this as a reference photo:
From top to bottom...
G3/HK91
HK33/93
HK53
MP5

3: Lastly try some M885 ammo.

Thanks to everyone specifically Ghillie. The ammo was junk so I took it back out with 62gr and it cycled better. Switching the locking piece and will try again. Found the ejector sping too weak and going to change out the extractor spring too.
