I placed the buffer into a measuring cup full of water. I then heated the water in the microwave for two or three minutes. Be careful as the water and buffer will be hot when it comes out of the microwave. I then used a q-tip to spread a little o-ring lubricant on the tip of the buffer to help it slide in. If it does not slide in easily you can use the handle end of a screw driver and a hammer to drive the buffer in. Heating the buffer in the water lets it become softer and the lubricant aids in pushing the buffer into the stock. I have used this method on both of my A3 stocks. Good luck and Happy Holidays.
