I mounted a 552 onto a MFI mount (lowest available "conventional" mount) and then onto my 94 clone. It sat WAY too high for my taste and it completely blocked the iron sights.
On advice of nearly everyone on this list, I replaced those parts with a B&T 10266 "low MP5" mount and an M2 Aimpoint. They sit much lower, the sight plane is about 1" lower, and you can see the iron sights through the scope. The only downside to the 10266 mount is that you have exactly 1 position in which you can mount your Aimpoint.
B&T now also offers another "low MP5" mount, the 21241, which sits just as low as the 10266 but offers more rail length for greater mounting options. I have no idea if the rail has sufficient length to be able to accept an EOTech optic.
