I'm a recent member to the forum, this is my first posting, and I made my first purchase today!
After reading so many opinions and information on what gun I should get for a daily carry/conceal it was very confusing to say the least.
My wife and I recently had a 101 training class in preparation for our CHL classes and it didn't take long before I was hooked on reading everything I could about what gun I should get. My instructor was kind enough to let me practice shooting with a H&K P30 9mm which was like butter - very little recoil, accurate, a great gun. When I told my brother who happens to be a cop what I was thinking about buying he recommended nothing less than a .40. That led to more reading about 9mm vs. .40 so I had to take a step back again with so much info running through my head.
After numerous calls to my instructor who has 19 guns (14 H&K's) I asked him what his daily carry is - a H&K 40 Compact. He was kind enough to let me shoot his Compact 40 and again I was hooked. For those of you that are reading threads and were having the same thoughts on 9mm vs. .40, or recoil between the two guns, etc. - this is a great gun that fits me and I would urge you to try to shoot both if possible. I read that time and time again from most members off here so I don't think you can go wrong with either choice. I picked my Compact 40 up today and now I need some advice from those of you that carry this as your daily conceal gun. What type of holsters do you recommend or ones that you are currently using?
The guy behind the counter today was kind enough to show me the H&K 45 - drool, drool - my next purchase when Momma isn't around!
Thanks in advance for any help.
