I think I officially have a problem, just purchased my 3rd HK (I know, some of you have many more than 3!)

I've started USPSA competitions... and though I love my p30 and p30sk (and I used them in the matches) - I already had my eye on the Expert at my local range.

So, I mean... why not right!?

I love it already!

I also recently got my p30sk back from Lazy Wolf Gun... the trigger and reset feels amazing. I was a very very happy girl at the range today!

I have a quick question though, I want to replace the front sight with a red fiber optic sight. Are these fiber optic sights specific to a particular gun (i.e. USP Expert) or specific to a move general model (like USP?)

Any suggestions on a good one I should consider?

I have Dawson's fiber optic on my expert. It's great, much faster pick up for me.

Yup, Dawson Precision competition fiber sights on my VP9 that I use for USPSA, noticeably easier to do quick transitions.

Excellent news, I approve of your assessment. A friend I met at the last match brought me some of his toys to try out to find a better production match gun than my p30/p30sk. I was considering using my 1911 (and still might) but the .45 acp may not be all that practical from a recoil, ammo $$, endurance. lol He unfortunately let me shoot an SVI which will be my goal gun (if I get good at USPSA.)

I spent a lot of time with his FN and I was really quite good with it (in comparison to a S&W, Sig, Glock, my own 1911) and his STI (that I was good with but I mean, that is all the STI open gun and optics, not me lol.)

I had been eyeing the HK Expert for months because it was sitting at the range I go to for lessons. I just didn't have a "good enough" excuse. Then I made one that seemed reasonable enough.

I'm expecting a bit of a lecture because he kinda said the problem with HK's is they aren't made for matches like USPSA. I kind of hope eventually I can prove him wrong once I get the hang of it!

I just ordered some mags for it... ouch! Talk about expensive mags. I ended up going with the white ones ($50 vs $75) - I'm hoping they work out okay

I shoot limited minor. Mostly because I really only shoot the local match and I like to fill my mags, so I'm only competing with the guys I shoot with so I don't bother with production. I have 3 of the clear plastic mags, along with the 2 black ones my expert came with. I use them in the expert and my full size usp (with jet funnel) I have had 0 issues with the mags or the guns. Both have been 100%. Take some video when you shoot a match, some of the HK team shooters are posting here now, it's nice to see other people running HK's in competition. I just shot my vp9 today, great gun but I think the expert is my favorite!

I will, I've only done 2 matches so I probably need a bit more practice before I'm brave enough to get something on video lol

Glad the plastic ones work well. Between the Expert, new holster, new mags etc I'm feeling a little too guilty to look at my bank account lol I figure what's the $40 sight to boot.

I used the p30 first then p30sk. On one stage with the p30sk I got all alpha hits!! I mean, my time was twice as long but still...

I'm excited to try with the Expert!
