So recently I picked up an x300 for my p30. It is one hell of a weaponlight. Extremely bright, very tight beam pattern, really doesn't need to strobe to temporarily blind someone when its dark. Then I found a guy on a local classifieds site who had a C5L, so I picked that up for the wifeys USPc. Then yesterday while at an LGS getting the FFL paperwork for my hk45CT (thanks GPD45), I saw that they had an X5L gen 2. I've been looking for one for a while, so I bit the bullet.

So now I need to figure out if I want the X5L or the x300 on the P30 or the Hk45CT. Decisions, decisions....

Either way pics for clicks...

the c5l might not be as bright, but for any pistol application it is more than bright enough, the x5l is plenty bright. But it comparison to the x300, the x5l seems a tad less bright and has ALOT more spill. the x300 just has a very bright output with a very focused beam. so basically if you just need a light, i'd go with the x300. but if you want options you cant beat the viridians. soild laser only, solid light only, strobe light solid laser, solid light strobe laser, strobe laser. not to mention you can adjust the brightness output with 3 different levels, and the strobing function can be set to how fast you want it to strobe.

I've been looking at the Viridians, whats your inititial opinion on yours?
I have an X5L v1 on my carry pistol and I have been very happy with it. Very compact and versatile laser and light, although maybe not quite as bright or tight as some of the other lights out there that are twice the size. The X5L v2 does not look as suitable for concealed carry as the earlier version. The C5L in the pics looks fine for carry but I can't see the other two being feasible for concealed carry. Not sure if you really care about that, though; if you are keeping it bedside or taking it to the range then you might not mind a bigger unit with more power.

Heh the original backwards bullet was actually on the cover of an HK catalog some years ago.

I polished the crown myself with ultra fine oiled wet sandpaper, then used polishing compound for a high gloss. Just to emphasize to anyone seeing it that they are on the wrong end.
