I bought a MP5 barrel that was advertised as factory. I have never seen these markings. It appears to have a cartouche at the base of the barrel and then just says HK K520. It has 16 flutes. Any ideas, confirming it is German?

The K520 is the manufacture's lot number. There was a period of time where HK maintained quality control using lot numbers when production was at an all-time high for the MP5. You'll always see an "HK" proceeding the lot number.
