I installed a eyebolt sling on my sp5k I figured I'd share some pics .
I hit out the pin between barrel and cocking tube on the sight tower itself .
All I used was a rubber mallet and a punch . Took me five minutes .
This is a upgrade and part was only 7.00 bucks .
This is pretty heavy for single sling imo plus I bought a German sling .
I google this and had a hard time locating out the information on the process .
Hk Was cleared prior to taking photos .

Based on your first photo, you don't have it in far enough. It needs to bottom out. Also, you're going to have to press over the other side. If you don't, it will yank right out under sling tension. Also, hopefully you removed it from right to left (muzzle forward).

Thanks for the heads up . I will push all the way in and yes in that orientation I took the pin out .
Thanks for the help again .
That was my first thought, what keeps the sling from pulling the eye bolt right out.
To be honest I thought it was tension from the over sized pin .

The end of the eye bolt needs to be bucked over to keep it from pulling out, it is hard to do this in a home workshop and most of the home jobs I have seen did not look very good. I don't know of anyone who provides this service commercially though.

I was thinking that if the end of the eye bolt was ground down flush with the triple tree, then drilled and tapped, a small button head screw could then be used hold the eye bolt in.

Doesn't safety checking take some of the sport out of it?

I am curious to hear about it needing to be peened.
