right now when the slide is all the way forward, i can still see a bit of brass in the chamber. it's like the slide and the barrel aren't perfectly flush so it creates a small opening where i can still see the brass.
On both of my P2000's, with a loaded chamber, I can see a small section of brass in the area around the extractor claw... never really thought about it before I saw this thread. Thousands of rounds through them without any problem.
If you're seeing it from the top of the slide, you may have problems. through the side is normal.
A good test, is to remove the barrel, and drop a round into the chamber without the rest of the weapon involved. If the round doesn't drop down to at least flush with the top of the hood, then your ammunition may be a tad too long (usually this becomes apparent with feeding issues, though).
