It's all aluminum and sharp as a razor. Adding rail covers just makes it huge and it still manages to snag on everything. I think they could have eliminated some of the sharp edges up front.

I had one and replaced it in favor of the polymer one with only a bottom rail for my vertical grip This handguard here then realized I needed a rail on the side for a light so I got this one This Other-Other handguard because annoyingly B&T does not sell those rails seperately that I could find.

Third time is the charm.

ETA: This was all back when I was shooting an MP5 in subgun matches so it was all about practical usage and not just what looked cool.

I have the BT-21358 handguard on my MP5. I like it a lot, but I wouldn't use it without a vertical grip. With a vertical grip it is great. I've never had a problem with mine snagging on stuff.

Here's a photo with the vertical grip and a Surefire M600DF:

I‘m thinking about replacing the 80s slim handguard on my MP5...
I came across this one (https://www.hkparts.net/shop/pc/B-T-HK-MP5-HK53-Tri-Rail-Handguard-75p16885.htm). Does anybody have some experience with it?

Thanks in advance
Just my $.02......save yourself a lot of trouble, and go with the Knights Armament. It has the rails, and works like a charm. Here's a link.
