Is this wear normal on a USP 45 Elite?

I noticed a little bit of peening on the bottom of the barrel and the recoil guide rod after 650 rounds fired from my USP 45 Elite. Is this normal wear?

Just checked my .45 Elite. I certainly have finish wear on those same spots and maybe a touch of peening on the barrel but it doesn't look like a significant change in the edge their like yours appears to be. My round count is somewhere in the four digits, maybe 4000-6000?
Yes it normal. I add oil in spots where metal rubs.
None of my Hks in 45 acp have been peened like that. Looks like a lot of +p was fired through it to me. jmo
I do not have an Elite but I do have a few HK's. I do not believe the peening on the barrel lug is normal. I would contact HK customer service.
This is what HK customer service said:

What you are seeing is normal. It comes from the parts rubbing together when racking the slide or shooting the pistol. Make sure to lube those areas and have fun shooting.

Thank you for contacting HK.

Then I would shoot the heck out of it and enjoy it. BUT keep an eye on it.

Yeah that's what I plan to do. The pictures shown were taken at 650 rounds, and since then I've fired another 205 and taken a bunch more pictures. I plan to keep a photo log after every range trip to see if the wear progresses. The wear on the barrel seemed to progress a TINY bit, while the wear on the recoil guide rod looks about the same.
Looks like excess peening to me.................
this does look REALLY excessive. Especially with such a low round count. The recoil rod should never peen the barrel lug or any part of the barrel with only 600 rounds. Its very strange. Did you send pics to HK? might want to do that and make sure they see what is happening.

Already did; they said it was normal. *shrug*
