Looking for a 45
Looking at moving up to a 45 range and home protection. I was hoping that HK came out with a striker fire 45 but didn't happen. The sigp320 gets good reviews and price wise, it's a striker fire at the 500 dollar mark. Few questions on HK45 models. FRom what I understands, the V1 trigger in DA is not as smooth as the LEM BUT I can shoot single action only with this pistol,this should be ok. You can get the LEM with a safety but not a decocker ? If the pistol has one in the chamber in the LEM model, do you have to slowly decocker the gun and rack slide to remove cartridge or can you rack slide in cocked position with safety on? As you can see, all my pistols are striker fired.

You can carry HK DA/SA pistols in "cocked and locked" position too, which gives you quick access to your SA trigger. Just a thought.

That I new, that's one of the reasons I am still considering V1. It's not for carry so Cocked and locked at range works great. This will be full size model I think. Not sure of I want C model if not going to be carried
it's all about preference . a lot of shooters on this forum LEM all their sidearms, while others prefer that crisp break from shooting SA . i'm not a fan of the LEM trigger, i prefer the crisp trigger break on the PPQ, VP9 or my cocked and locked USPc 45 V1 . my personal fav is my USP tac 45 with the match grade trigger . again it's all about preference .

You can wait on the VP45 later this year, or get a USP45 now!!! :biggrin:

HK45; Having a 1911 background, I found the V1 safety/decocker a little weird as it was in a slightly different spot than a 1911. I also found that a little too much pressure on the safety would decock the gun when riding the safety with a thumbs forward grip. neither was good as far as shooting IDPA matches, So I converted to light LEM and have been very happy since.
I am patiently waiting for the glorious debut of the VP45 myself. A VP45 would be FLYING off the shelf right now, especially if it stays in the general price range of the VP9.
