Looking for Bill Springfield???

8607 Views 49 Replies 24 Participants Last post by  Crashmc
I have sent him a couple of emails but haven't gotten a response. I really liked the work he has done for me in the past and wanted to ask him about future work.

Anybody know where he is ?

Thanks

You try calling?
First thing I thought of when seeing this. I'm sure his good work outweighs his bad as he has been around a pretty long time. But I see just enough negative to make me skeptical. Thought about sending a couple HKs to him. But ultimately decided that if I couldn't afford Grayguns, I would shoot them stock.
email. phone, Im.. nothing..

I'm sure he does good work, but if he is unreachable when the odd job goes bad, i would look elsewhere. I now have an HK45 with a hammer that follows and a USP 45 with a trigger that is waaaay to light to use for anything but a range toy.

Its been a coupe of weeks, but there's still a part of me that believes he is just on vacation or something...

We'll see

Looks like Bill is the Hide & Seek Champion of 2012.

I hope he's OK on a personal level but wouldn't recommend his services to anyone based on what's been reported in the last year or two.

Indeed. I would recommend GGI for sure, then if not shoot it stock. This has unfortunately become a trend...
I have heard back from Bill. He has been spending a lot of time with his son who just graduated USAFA. Understandably he has been spending as much time as possible with his son before he ships out.

Glad to hear he is doing fine.

Agreed...but even being on vacation a message could be put on his web sight and phone saying he's on vacation and when to expect him back. My stock HK's are just fine. :) Lesson's of Life!!

Very wise!

[sarcasm]Oh boy, golly! That's great to hear!!!!!!!!!!![/sarcasm]

Too bad peoples' guns aren't doing fine, and they need to spend money out of their own pocket to pay HK to fix them instead of Springfield fixing them....

Yep. Pretty easy to leave a message so your customers know what to expect.

But that's assuming you give a damn about your work and reputation. :31:

(I also feel very fortunate that I prefer stock triggers.)

Agreed, but people are free to run their business how they see fit... But it's pretty easy to change your voicemail greeting or have an out of office reply auto email...
In his defence, Bill DID offer to replace the altered parts at his expense (offered to pay shipping too.) The problme was that i had already replaced them myself. I was kinda hoping he would offer to send some extra parts or something, but i didn't want to push it...

Every time I get tempted to send in my P30L to someone for trigger work I read stuff like this. I just need to get better with the stock trigger.
this thread wasn't created so people can bash the man. In his defense also, I have sent him my USPc and my P30 and both run flawlessly.
funny I never read any of these horror stories about Cylinder and Slide in Fremont NE...guess I'm glad they are the ONLY guys who will EVER work on any of mine...

Glad to hear he attempted to make amends OP...
Bill has treated me very will with about half a dozen pistols. One time things were not to my liking, but he fixed that. I will continue to send him all of my pistols.

Agreed, that he should have indicated something on his VM or website though. But I am really getting more of a chuckle out of the folks who are so indignant about this.
I just think its rude. I was actually worried something had happened. Then somehow it moved to the quality of his work??

My stock P30's run flawlessly too. But then I only shoot em two - three times a week.
