Low Profile Optic Mount for SP5K-PDW

I like Kinetic Development’s low profile with an ACRO on my B&T and it’s absolute cowitness, but prefer Scalarworks LEAP on my SP5 SBR, as i usually run it with a fat MK-9K Gemtech, so I prefer to be up and over the receiver. A3 stock is for show; much prefer an A2. I just picked up a 5KP which is going form 1, so no need for a red dot yet. I do plan to look into it, but am waiting for Eotech’s new EFLX to commercialize. You can change between 3 & 6 moa, purportedly has a wider window like an SRO, but in a similar footprint of an RMR for under $400. EOTECH EFLX Mini Red Dot Sight I cant see myself pulling my rear sight, so will watch what other options come to market this winter.

Elvis’ boy raised a good point regarding the rear sight mount in that the FoV and front post do line up to a degree in a pinch, should the red dot go down. It’s a good point given I’d never expect a need for a range exceeding 25yrs given the intended use. I do like the idea of the Infitech but would prefer an RMR “type” sight pattern vs ACRO to keep it tight. Hopefully a RMR footplate design will surface soon from them.

The KD mount has a solid lockup and I can push it more forward due to the closed bolt, non-recip/ambi controls on the APCK, but haven't tried It on the HK yet, sans a can. I just figured it would inhibit quick reloads due to how far I prefer my optic. I tried a few configurations until I came up with what works best for me and how I intend to use most often. Lots of great input within this post.

KD options here. SIDELOK - RMR LOW PROFILE MOUNT - BLACK - Kinetic Development Group LLC

PM me if you want to try it before you commit to something. The low profile mount‘s height from top of Picatinny Rail is .659″
