I'm new to the H&K world. Just recently bought a H&K 45 and H&K45C. How can you tell if the entire gun was made in Germany or just the slide?
Are all H&K slides made in Germany?

If your slide is made in Germany you will find a DE on your slide. The frame will simply state US or German made. Some of the HK45's and 45c'S are being made in the US now.

The US model will have a bell on the slide and on the frame.

The U.S. models are of the same high quality as the German models. There is no difference in quality.

All slides are made in Germany, only the made in Germany guns have DE on the slides.

OP: simply put, if the frame says Made in __________ that's where it was made.

Thanks guys....I did look and my slide is stamped with a DE and the frame does say "Made in Germany" for both my HK45 and the 45C.
Both are get shooters, very accurate.
