Hello all,
I recently purchased a new Mark 23. Whenever fired, the magazine falls out unless I manually hold it in place. Like the pistol, the two magazines are brand new and came with the pistol. I have confirmed that the magazine release is not being unintentionally pressed, and I have confirmed that the magazines are being properly seated and firmly retained by the magazine release(while not firing). It is worth noting that the magazine release appears to achieve the full range of motion when operated, and the spring properly returns it to the natural resting position(observed both inside the magazine well and on the lever itself). It is also worth noting that both the magazines and the magazine release do not appear misshapen. This issue is not present when manually cycling ammunition by working the slide. My guess is that the magazine release spring(Part No. 215737) became stiff or weak due to age, and as a result, compresses under the recoil vibration, allowing the magazine to fall free. Does anyone have any pinsight as to the cause of/remedy to this issue?
Thanks.
