I'm not familiar with the whole 93/33/import/re-engraving scene. I bought this gun several years ago and never really shoot it.
Any info on the history or probable history of how this gun came to be would be appreciated.

And please pardon my ignorance.

it looks like a former sear host HK93 that was remarked to a HK33 although it is not a complete conversion (paddle mag release is not installed and most likely the front sight with a grenade launcher ring is missing as well). The "K" number is most likely the serial number of the sear that was installed in the rifle.

thanks df662...that's exactly what i was looking for. I figured it was an old re-marked 93. Just wanted to verify.

Even though you blacked it out on your 2nd pic, I can tell you that the zip in Arlington, VA is 22201. I'm pretty sure that is not a state secret.
