Had the bright idea to purchase an MKE 94 to have built into a SBR. Like the rifle, but the one I purchased is apparently "NY compliant" it comes with a ten round mag and the mag well has to pieces spot welded in where it will take the 10 round mag but a HK 30 round mag will not work. How hard is it to fix the problem since I don't live in NY. Looks like two paths: (1) modify the mag well or (2) modify the mag? Would prefer to modify the mag well? Suggestions or tips appreciated. Thank you in advance. Chris

Oops. You got the carbine. Shoulda got the 94p. That one doesn't have the one piece stock and mag well block. No biggie. Yes the bars can be removed. Try a search here and you'll find all the info you need.

You can search on youtube as well to see a video detailing the process. As stated above, it's easier to purchase a 94P and work from that instead of working from the carbine version.
