I'm relatively new to the MP5 in general, and I have an odd issue and searches came up with nothing. I recently got a MKE Z 5RS and after putting 400 problem free rounds through it, cleaned it. Now for some reason my charging handle rattle audibly in the bolt forward position, and it didn't have that issue before I cleaned it. Any ideas?

Did you remove the charging handle during cleaning? If so did you get the spring back in correctly?

Nope, left it alone- just basic remove bolt / carrier group, and trigger assembly. Left changing handle alone...

It's almost like the cocking tube support is a mm or 2 off and the bolt carrier isn't providing enough force to keep it snug.

I'd put that in the "don't care" category. If it starts to bug you too much, just shoot a mag or two with no hearing protection. Problem solved!!!

I understand that it doesn't effect function, but it's pretty annoying and every other MP5 I've handled and shot doesn't have this issue. It's not a little rattle, it's pretty loud. I'd prefer to fix it myself vs sending it back to Zenith to correct.

This wins the Internet for the day! hahahaha!

To the OP: NORMAL--you likely had debris and/or grease packed in the detent ring.

Pull the handle back and make sure the detent and detent spring did not fall out. Sounds weird but detents sometimes work their way out.
