Just picked up the SP5K yesterday. WOW she's a beauty. Getting ready to do the Form 1 for the folding stock and vertical foregrip I'm buying another Aimpoint Micro T-2 cause they are king of red dot scopes. What height mount do I need to clear the front sight? I don't care about cowitness.

This is the setup I'm looking at.

FYI, the LaRue LT-661 (short) / T-2 combo with a BT-21241 mount puts the dot exactly halfway between the top of the front sight post and the front sight hood. This is looking through the tube, absolutely centered. If you scrunch way down and look through the bottom of the tube, you can just barely get an absolute cowitness through the irons with the dot on the front sight blade tip, but it's unusable for actually shooting.

The LT-661 is the lowest LaRue QD base, and I believe the BT 21241 (and the shorter 10266) is the lowest mount you can get for a SP5K. If you can get an absolute cowitness with a QD mount and a T-2, I haven't found it.

Some Data:

Factory H1 mount - 18mm (~0.71") optical height

Bobro Low - 0.8"
Aimpoint LRP - 20mm or 0.75"
LT661 - 0.84"

Maybe the Aimpoint LRP would be close enough? That 20mm number is from the newer LRP mount, currently on the Aimpoint site. Scuttlebutt says the older LRP one was lower.

I like the Trijicon RMR optic on my MP5's and K's instead of the Aimpoint H1 because of the compact size. I wish B&T, UTG or MFI would make a mount that did not have picatinny rails/slots and was lower, flat and made for a RMR or any of the other micro optics to mount directly. That would lower the optic and provide a true co-witness based on my measurements. Here are pic's of one of my RMR's with a LaRue QD on a B&T Rail.

Nice setup! Do you know how high the "Low Picatinny" RMR mount from Trijicon will sit? I'm considering it for my SP5K.

Got it. If you clear the front sight tower, than you won't get a cowitness. As far as a cowitness options goes, the B&T mounts just don't do it for me, which is why I'm going with the RMR mount option in that group buy.

No problem. I'm keeping the group buy open for a bit and will also be adding a picatinny rail option for the aimpoint micro. I'm hoping to get pics up soon.

This is mine with the Trijicon MRO with their low mount on the factory HK rail for reference for anyone who may be interested. It co-witnesses with the dot right on top of the front sight post set up this way. Unfortunately, I do not have a picture through the sight yet.

I'm not calling you a liar, but that looks impossible with the height of that optic unless the dot is way low. Have you zeroed it yet?
