What sighting systems are most commonly used with MP5's and SD's? I've seen some rigged with EOTech's and some in Hollywood with Lasers (of course). But what is the most common and most proficient that ya'll have used/ seen? Please include mounting systems that are necessary to make it work and include pics if you can. Thanks for your help fella's.

One plus of using the Aimpoint and B&T mount is that you can end up with the iron sights and optical sights being co-witnessed.

For most of us this ends up with an nice face weld to the stock vs having to have the head a little higher. A second factor for those using the MP5 for a living (i.e. police and military) is that if the red dot sight fails the iron sights are right there in front of them ... no real movement need to transition.

The field of view is larger in the Eo-tech, however, if you have both eyes open then this is not a major factor. Best recommendation is to try both plus one of the newer "mini" sights on the range and in a couple action courses.

Do all of the recommendations apply equally for the Mp5K?
More or less yes, however, with the shorter length there is limited room to open the dust caps, fit in front of the rear sight and operate the charging handle.

My answer was at first to remove one of the dust caps and then move the Aimpoint to the MP5A2 ....
