I'm new to this site, but not to the NFA world. I need help in picking out the right parts to build a proper MP5SD clone.

I prefer parts that just "plug-in-play" but if I cannot get around that then I have gunsmiths around me that would be able to do it.

I'm currently looking at the Omega SD Upper Receiver from Atlantic Firearms, https://www.atlanticfirearms.com/component/virtuemart/shipping-pistols/omega-9mm-full-size-barreled-receiver-with-wide-mouth-hand-guard-detail.html?Itemid=0, as well as a 2-position sear pack, B&T QD can and retractable stock.

Or I could go with the Omega stripped receiver https://www.atlanticfirearms.com/component/virtuemart/shipping-accessories/omega-stripped-receiver-detail.html?Itemid=0 and look for parts that would complete the build.

My main questions are:
1. What should I start with, a complete SD upper or stripped upper?
2. Where can I find a complete SD parts list containing every single part by name?
3. What would you, a MP5SD owner, recommend I do?

Omega receiver $1700 +
US bolt carrier assembly $500 +/-
Semi trigger group with US parts $300 - $600 +/- depending upon type (SEF vs Ambi)
Suppressor $500 - $600

You're getting awful close to the cost of a turn key SD from TPM Outfitters who have an excellent rep here on the board. TPM P5SD A3 W/ Can SBR, MP5SD, Hk94, Sp89 H&K : Short Barrel Rifles (SBR) at GunBroker.com

My opinion, spend the extra and go with TPM. You won’t be disappointed.

See, this is what I need! However, I cannot own the 3-postion sear pack. I've also have looked at the TSC Machine builds and would need to purchase and supply a HK94 for the build.

Does TPM make a 2 position sear MP5SD?

i am a 07/sot and get allot of hk weapons including batches of mp54sd's from departments. i never have a problem selling off original hk mp5sd's because the cheap clones i have function just as well. that is i must say, i always have used original hlk suppressors that are post dealer samples with the clones i have. you can not build a less expensive clone than the atlantic offering, i recently purchased one and am happy with it. i would never buy a mp5sd clone that would not accept an original hk supressor.

Thank you mark, what is the going rate for a HK Suppressor? Also, what is the going rate for a fully transferable MP5SD?

If he is not an SOT, how can he own an original HK suppressor?!

Get the Omega barreled upper, add semi-auto trigger group of your choice (clipped & pinned) from HKParts, along with the $459 SD bolt carrier group, and $150 for your choice of fixed or retracting stock.

So add $400 for 2 NFA stamps and you're at $2,800 for both NFA stamps, and an MP5 SD barreled receiver, just add a suppressor of your choice.

TPM, RCM, B&T, Knights Armament all make SD suppressors using HK's proper 18x1 thread pitch. RCM is $500, TPM is $700, B&T is $1,100 and Knights are around $1,800...

EDIT: You're in Texas. I would call TPM Outfitters, and buy one of their factory-SBR MP5SD clones with suppressor. They should be able to file paperwork for you, and you can pay them all the $$$ and they can even mail the SBR and suppressor to you when it's approved. Only downside- you don't get to play with a pistol (which is useless until the suppressor is approved. Cant fire the gun without the can)

i have been steadily paying 500 for factory hk suppressors. they are limited to post dealer samples of course, i would certainly recommend any urbach related supressor as a substitute. there are many other brands of sd suppressors of which i have not tried any. i am in the market though for 3 as the factory suppressors i have are not readily maintainable.
