Any chance that the factory in Columbus, GA will ever make MR556 barrels in 14.5" & 10.4"? Seems to me they'd be able to sell them like hot cakes. Also, are they even making any more of the MR556's there?

Personally, I don't think HK heavy barrel untreated steel MR556 14.5" and 10.4" would "sell them like hotcakes". If the barrels are made here in the US, then chrome lined 416 barrels would certainly sell well. But selling untreated heavy profiled barrels I don't think would be very popular. Just as with the 16" barrel, it would still need to reprofiled and Nitride treated. There just wouldn't be the step of shortening and rethreading that would not have to be done. There certainly be a market for MR556 14.5" and 10.4" barrels, but not anywhere near what chrome lined 416 14.5" and 10.4" barrels would be. YMMV.

I agree with you on that; if they were chrome lined or even nitraded, they would definetly sell. Also if they were the original profile 416 barrels and not the MR556 heavy barrel, then again, they would sell. I sent my MR556 upper to Jayson at IGF to re-profile it and have it nitraded because H&K refuses to listen to their customers to have it chrome-lined. I like H&K, but com'on?!?

I hope they make CHF nitride barrels. Daniel Defense makes them for ARs, and they must sell pretty well, as nearly everyone is out of stock on them on an ongoing basis. Not a fan of chrome, but love nitriding.

I'm sure that they hear us, I just don't know what they can do about it unless barrel manufacturing is moved here. I don't know this for a fact, but I'd be willing to bet that to German law, chrome lining the bore would be a feature for a "Weapon Of War". It is my understanding that in Germany (like most of Europe) the barrel and the bolt group are the regulated part. Whereas here in the US the regulated part is the "firearm frame or receiver". So HK Germany would be limited as to who buys the barrels if they are in fact considered a "Weapon Of War" regulated part. Then we have the import ban on "Non Sporting Use" barrels. A 416 barrel would come under that. So even if Germany allowed the barrels to be shipped here Uncle Sam wouldn't allow them to come in.
