The G28 extended rail has 5nm engraved on the cross bolts I believe. Although a MRS may be different

Ok great - thanks much for the reply, ill start at 35inch-lbs and move up to 40inch-lbs max as needed its ~10% less than the 5Nm.

Ok thanks for double checking and the reply - much appreciated gives me much more headroom but I need to see if they put in helicoil type inserts (whatever they are called) in the MRS HG (iam sure they did - but) to accommodate steel screws on the Al handguard.

35lbs is sufficient for handguards in general. The screws are rated to those maximum weights, doesn't mean that's how tight it should be.

I put my HK rifles through a lot of stress in 3 gun competitions. My screws were done at roughly 35lbs and have never come loose.
