My MP5 22 rifle arrived today

I was an HK retail associate and as such eligible for employee purchases. I ordered this MP5 22 in early January and it finally showed up today. They should be hitting the retail shelves soon as we don't get things that are not available to the public. Buyers have been paying 2x retail on these so those that waited are about to get paid off as these should be going for MSRP or less.

First impression was very good. Nothing on the gun feels "cheap". I have a lot of trigger time with the MP5 platform including the SD and this Umarex made example certainly feels right. Weight, diopter rear sight, paddle release, sling mounts, and an "A3"stock which feels solid. The faux silencer is a bit long but still looks good. Only one mag is included and extra mags are on back order so existing stock will become much more valuable.

Even though I had no time today for shooting, I am going to predict that this gun will be a winner.

I haven’t seen one go anywhere close to retail. They are all asking 1200.
$1200 is retarded.

Prior to the production gap, CDNN sold these Licensed .22s for $300 forever.

That being said, the one I own has never choked on any .22 ammo, which is saying something about a .22 semi-auto.

Be patient.

416 22 is all metal, not sure about mp5 22.
The body is mostly polymer. The faux suppressor is steel and the stock rails seem to be aluminum. The whole gun weighs in at 7 pounds.

As to the $1K price tags I would hope that will come down as this batch hits stores.
There is one on Gb for $499.00 BIN.
Shooting Surplus $479 Free shipping , no tax
Is the no tax worth the long processing wait times they offer?

It shipped to my FFl today.
These new ones are plastic? Iirc the original Walther 22 MP5s from a few years back had metal receivers?
My Walther from 2014 is definitely metal.
I got mines yesterday. The sd version. It’s pretty heavy an the upper is all metal.

Are you sure about the body being polymer? If it’s like the old ones, the “upper” is aluminum with an epoxy costing or paint over it. In wear areas, like the rear where the stock goes on, you can see silver where the finish has rubbed off. Can’t see them changing that.

Does it still make the “ding” noise when you bump that thin hollow fake metal suppressor against anything? That’s most annoying on my old one.
