Bought a VP9 off of Palmetto State when they had the big sale a while back. Finally got to the range with her yesterday. Easy to shoot and very accurate. Just shot bullseye targets at 25 and 50 feet in the indoor range. Not one issue or hiccup. The thing puts ragged 5 or 10 shot holes into the target.

I shot about 100 rounds of Winchester Ranger 124 grain +p's and about 75 rounds of Speer Lawman 115 grain +p's to break it in right with that stiff recoil spring.

I did notice that the 124 trainers were spot on where I had the sights. The 115 grainers were about an inch to inch and a half low. I figure that the thing is sighted for the 124 grainers.

Nice gun to add to my HK stable.

Glad you are liking it. It's an easy pistol to fall in love with.

I think you nailed it, I've always found the 124gr loads are dead-on out of the VP9 at 15 yards with the "HK center hold", and the 115's are just slightly low. Enjoy, it's a fantastic pistol!

I have been reloading for 30 plus years and always liked the 124 grain .9mm. I shoot a lot of Berrys bullets in competition and they have a flat point hollow base that allows the bullet to expand fully in the barrel giving you some great groups. Never was a fan of the 115 but I do like to experiment with the 147 also.

On mine 124gr are spot on the center of the sight dots, which I understand is the HK Zero. I use 125ish grain ammo in the 9mm because the round was originally designed for that weight range and those old guys knew something about guns...

I was teaching a carbine class last year that included Pepper Poppers at 50, 75 and 100 yards. I finished setting up the course and was alone when the thought popped into my mind. "Wonder if I can?" The VP9 and I did it without too much problem at all. The whole way out to 100 yards, centered hits on the popper body.

I love my HK. :)

Got one of the pre-Black Friday $449 VP9s myself.
It's been flawless from the first shot.
I've been feeding mine exclusively 147 gr.
It seems to like them - LOL!

Enjoy your new Hk
