You will love it. they are highly accurate and easy to shoot.
They are excellent. Smooth shooting and accurate…. it takes a little bit to get used to the thumb cock/decock so practice is the key. ** YOU MAY ALREADY KNOW IT, BUT MAKE SURE YOU CHECK THE BUFFER IN THAT PISTOL BEFORE YOU FIRE IT. THAT IS THE MOST IMPORTANT THING WITH THE P9S.**
They are truly one of Heckler and Kochs masterpieces…just something about the tiny rollerlock bolt that makes you warm and fuzzy lol.
Congratulations and enjoy that classic.
If you need advice on the change out and what not, sound off, I can help .I did NOT know to check that. Thank you for the information!
How can you tell if a buffer is bad or not?Excellent acquisition. Very cool pistol. Heed corporal jj's advice here, doing otherwise can result in damage.
First, you have to disassemble the pistol and remove the buffer retaining housing. If the buffer is rubbery, you’re good to go if it is like Wrigleys chewing gum, squishy, and gummy it’s junk. It may be cracked up and crumbled into a million pieces as well , hard to say until getting it out…I recommend replacing it anyway. Buffers are cheap. I think the last ones I got were $19 .How can you tell if a buffer is bad or not?
I will get one ordered asap! Thanks for the information!First, you have to disassemble the pistol and remove the buffer retaining housing. Will do. I got one on the way!Post here when you get it … I will be happy to help you 😉
I removed the buffer housing to look at it and the buffer is hard and there aren’t any chunks of anything in there. I poked at it pretty hard with a screwdriver and it did not dig into the buffer at all. Would I be able to feel the buffer doing anything if I racked the slide back really hard?Post here when you get it … I will be happy to help you 😉
Ok I will before taking it to the range then. Thanks!Replace it.
IT IS BAD. Should be rubbery. Not hard, not gummy. Definitely needs replaced.I removed the buffer housing to look at it and the buffer is hard and there aren’t any chunks of anything in there. Me too. I would hate to have damaged something. I imagine parts are hard to come by for these!IT IS BAD. Should be rubbery. Not hard, not gummy. Definitely needs replaced.
You would not be able to feel anything regarding the buffer by racking the slide really hard 😉 the only way to find out whether it is serviceable or not is by doing exactly what you did ,dismantling it and physically checking it.
Glad you didn’t fire it in that condition👍🏻
Yes, sir. Proverbial hens teeth.Me too. I would hate to have damaged something. I imagine parts are hard to come by for these!
